How to find BFi OPTiLAS in Milton Keynes

By car

Leave M1 junction 14 and take the direction Milton Keynes.
At first roundabout turn right onto the A509 locally designated as the H5.
At the 5th roundabout turn right onto the V8.
At the 2nd roundabout turn left onto the A422 which is also the H3. Continue on the H3 to the A5 interchange roundabout and take the last exit signposted as the V5.
At the 2nd roundabout turn left onto the H1.
Take the 2nd right Featherstone Road and 2nd left into Mill Square. The distance from the M1 is approx. 7.5 miles. ( If you get lost, Milton Keynes has a grid network of Horizontal and Vertical roads. We are at the coordinates H1 and V5 located East of Stony Stratford which is in the North West part of Milton Keynes. )
Non motorway traffic heading into Milton Keynes should exit the A5 at the A422 ( first exit heading south from Old Stratford or next exit travelling north after Central Milton Keynes ).
Take the exit V5 just before the A422 East and follow above remaining directions.

By rail

Milton Keynes Central is served by one of the high speed links out of London Euston railway station. High speed Intercity express trains ( our recommendation ) run frequently with the journey time approx. 40-45 minutes. There are two other services which on average take from 50 minutes to 70 minutes stopping at all or some of the en-route stations. The local commuter trains can be very cramped and at peak periods and are best avoided unless you are well below average size ! Taxis at MK central are plentiful and we are approx. 5 minutes from the mainline railway station. If you are returning to London purchase a return ticket which costs about the same as the one way journey.

By air

London Luton is the nearest airport approx. 25-30 minutes journey by car / taxi from our offices. We can arrange a private taxi on request at very competitive rates ( approx. £35 ).

Birmingham International is about 1 hour by car or rail but is very convenient for main-line rail connections as the train station is within the airport terminal.

London Heathrow is also about 1 hour by car but the M25 / M1 traffic generally can add up to 1 hour to journey times during rush periods typically 6.00 am - 10.30 am and 4.30pm - 7.30pm. There is a high speed rail service from the Heathrow terminal area into Paddington station which operates every 15 minutes and is highly recommended ( avoid the Underground if travelling with heavy luggage ). Taxis are expensive and traffic can be bad into London. Getting from Paddington to Euston by Underground is not so convenient despite the short distance. Use it if you know the system otherwise take a London black cab to Euston then follow the rail guidelines above.
We can on request arrange a private taxi from Heathrow to Milton Keynes at very competitive rates ( approx. £70 each way ).

London Stansted is less convenient as there is no direct method of reaching Milton Keynes other than by car.  Journey time is typically 1.5 hours.

London Gatwick is an additional 40-60 minutes journey time to that of Heathrow depending on unpredicatable traffic. There is a good rail service between Gatwick airport and Milton Keynes - most trains involve one change in London but some are direct.
